Megan Fox in Jonah Hex/Fathom
A couple of casting bits today for newly-single Transformers star Megan Fox.
First, Fox is in final negotiations to join Josh Brolin and John Malkovich in Jonah Hex for Warner Bros. In the movie, based on the DC Comics character, Fox would play Leila, a gun-wielding beauty and love interest of Hex (Brolin), a scarred bounty hunter tracking a voodoo practitioner (Malkovich) who wants to raise an army of undead to liberate the South. Jimmy Hayward is directing with filming scheduled to begin in April.
Second, Fox is attached to star in and develop Fathom for Fox Atomic. In that movie, based on the Michael Turner-created comicbook, Fox would play Aspen Matthews, who is found abandoned on a ship and is adopted by a military man. She becomes a champion swimmer and marine biologist who comes of age realizing she has water-based powers and is part of an underwater race. Jordan Mechner will write the script.
Fox returns this summer with Shia LaBeouf in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and stars later this year in Jennifer’s Body written by Diablo Cody.
