Alfred Molina in Sorcerer’s Apprentice
The Trades are confirming /Film’s news from yesterday that Alfred Molina has signed to star alongside Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel in Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
The story centers on an average college student (Baruchel) who is recruited to work for a sorcerer named Balthazar Blake (Cage). The man gives his reluctant student a crash course in the art and science of magic to prepare him for a battle against the forces of darkness in modern Manhattan. Molina will play the evil magician Horvath. Teresa Palmer also stars as Baruchel’s love interest. Jon Turteltaub will direct. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing.
Molina will appear in next summer’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time with Jake Gyllenhaal — also for Disney.
