Trio Join Rape: A Love Story
Maria Bello, Abigail Breslin and Samuel L. Jackson will star in Rape: A Love Story to be directed by Harold Becker.
The indie drama centers on a mother (Bello) recovering from a brutal gang rape who is stalked by the perpetrators but is protected by a sympathetic cop (Jackson). Breslin will play her 12-year-old daughter, who witnesses the attack.
John Mankiewicz adapted the screenplay from the Joyce Carol Oates novella, published in 2003. Filming is scheduled to begin in June.
