Steve Carell is Brigadier Gerard
Steve Carell will star in the period comedy Brigadier Gerard.
The project is based on a series of short stories by Sherlock Holmes creator Arthur Conan Doyle. Carell would play Etienne Gerard, a French soldier during the Napoleonic wars who considers himself a gallant swordsman but whose actual skills often pale in comparison to his own conception of them. John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky will write.
Carell starred this summer in Get Smart and can be seen on TV’s “The Office”.
