TIFF Movie Review: Zack and Miri Make a Porno
I’ve been a fan of Kevin Smith since the beginning. I fell in love with the guy with “Clerks” and I’ve stayed true to his brand through thick and thin. Say what you will about “Jersey Girl” and the donkey show in “Clerks II” — the guy is about as genuine as they come. So, it was with some excitement that I saw Zack and Miri Make a Porno earlier today at the Toronto Film Festival. The movie is a bit of a departure for Smith. It’s funny with heart. Sure, there’s porn, but the movie is a romantic comedy that succeeds because in the end we genuinely believe that Zack (Seth Rogen) and Miri (Elizabeth Banks) have fallen in love.
