This weekend sees the release of M. Night Shyamalan’s “global catastrophe” movie The Happening. So, what better time to address another “global catastrophe” project that is currently in the works — Knowing from director Alex Proyas.
The movie stars Nicolas Cage as a professor named Ted Myles who gets his hands on an item from a 50-year-old time capsule which seemingly predicts every major disaster over that 50-year period. The kicker is that the final prediction deals with destruction on a global scale — and the good professor is somehow involved. The movie also stars Rose Byrne.

Knowing is scheduled for a March 20, 2009 release.
