Leonardo DiCaprio in Farragut North
Leonardo DiCaprio is attached to star in a big screen version of Beau Willimon’s play Farragut North for Warner Bros. In addition, DiCaprio will serve as producer with George Clooney who is looking to direct and possibly take a role.
The story follows a young communications director for a fast-rising presidential candidate. During the course of the campaign, the idealistic young man falls prey to the backstabbing and other dirty trickery of seasoned rivals. Willimon is writing the script.
The play is headed for Broadway next year, with Mike Nichols reportedly in line to direct Jake Gyllenhaal who will be making his Broadway debut.
DiCaprio’s upcoming credits include Revolutionary Road with Kate Winslet for director Sam Mendes and Body of Lies with Russell Crowe to be directed by Ridley Scott.
