Eastwood Eyes The Human FactorClint Eastwood may direct The Human Factor based on the John Carlin book “The Human Factor: Nelson Mandela and the Game that Changed the World”. Morgan Freeeman will star as Mandela.

The story is set right after the fall of apartheid and after Mandela was released from a long imprisonment and became South African president. Mandela recognized the significance when South Africa was selected host of the 1995 Rugby World Cup after the team had been barred from even competing since the 1980s because of apartheid. Matt Damon in preliminary talks to play the captain of the Springboks, the South Africa national rugby union team. Warner Bros. is in talks to finance.

Eastwood and Freeman previously worked together on Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby.

Great concept for a movie. I only hope all angles are looked at and investigated. Matt Damon who will play Francois the Springboks Captain was not well liked in world rugby and to ensure the dream story came true for South Africa and Nelson Mandela they took drastic steps which included poisoning the opposition before the final. The investigation was squashed and conveniently swept under the carpet. That’s the real story that needs to be told.

    Hi,

Great concept for a movie always knew that this particular story was always going to be made. The BBC in a poll found that people thought it was one of the greatest sporting moments of all time. Pity people like Steven still like to toss about conspiracy theories. Funny the All Blacks ( New Zealand) seemed have been poisoned in successive World Cups. First by the Springboks…then the French…the Wallabies…the French again…or I’m sorry to us non Kiwi’s its called sour grapes and choking.
