Hanks in Fahrenheit 451?
An industry insider has informed the website AintItCool.com that Tom Hanks has signed on to star as Guy Montag, the central character in Fahrenheit 451. The movie will be directed by Frank Darabont, who previously worked with Hanks in The Green Mile. Darabont was also the director of the great movie, The Shawshank Redemption.
Fahrenheit 451 is based on the famous book by Ray Bradbury about a future where all books are burned in order to suppress independent thoughts and actions. One of the book burners, Guy Montag, encounters a beautiful young woman and learns of an underground group who memorizes the contents of different books to preserve the thoughts of the books. 451 degrees Fahrenheit is the temperature at which paper burns.
Fahrenheit 451 is scheduled to hit theatres sometime in 2008.
