Best Trailer Ever! Okay, maybe not the best trailer ever but certainly one that had an entire theatre full of people buzzing. Got to go to an advance screening tonight of Transformers (which by the way was an awesome movie) but before the movie started, there was a trailer that simply made everyone’s jaw drop. No name was given for the movie. It just simply said it was being brought to us by JJ Abrams – you know, the executive producer and sometimes writer/director of Lost and Alias and the director of Mission Impossible III. So the trailer starts with some kind of going away party for some dude in a New York City loft. All of a sudden there is some big kind of explosion outside and everyone runs out to the rooftop to see a bunch of fire balls falling from the sky and a few other things that I won’t talk about so as not to ruin it too much. The trailer is being shot by someone holding a camcorder – sort of a Blair Witch Project feeling to it. Anyways, I’m sure this trailer will pop up online sometime in the next few days but I have to say, this one really got the old heart pumping. I’ve tried to find out a bit about it online but there’s not a whole lot out there except that the title attached to this movie right now appears to be Cloverfield and Abrams is not going to be directing but he will be a producer or something like that. Keep your eyes open for this one because it’s a keeper. This is how trailers should be made!!
