Ace Ventura Without Jim Carrey?
I’ve gotta agree with JoBlo on this one. If a 2nd “Dumb and Dumber” failed (without Jim Carrey) and a 2nd “Mask” failed (without Jim Carrey), why on Earth would you make another Ace Ventura — without Jim Carrey?!?
Morgan Creek has hired Jeff Sank and brothers Jason and Justin Heimberg to write a third installment of the Ace Ventura franchise. The movie is expected to center on the eccentric detective’s son, who steps into his father’s shoes to take over the family business.
The two previous Ventura movies grossed more than $180 million domestically.
Sank and the Heimbergs recently finished work on Unnatural History for Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer. They have also completed the animated feature Iguanas for John Williams and Vanguard Entertainment.
