Shadyac/Universal Consult Magic 8 Ball
Tom Shadyac and Universal have picked up the high concept comedy Magic 8 Ball from a script by Barry Blaustein and Jason Hefter. Shadyac will produce and possibly direct. No word on what the story involves.
Blaustein’s credits include the Eddie Murphy comedies Coming to America and The Nutty Professor as well as writing and directing The Ringer with Johnny Knoxville.
Shadyac is currently directing Evan Almighty with Steve Carell and Morgan Freeman. He’s also serving as producer on the upcoming ,” the sequel to the Jim Carrey hit “Bruce Almighty.” He’s also producing Accepted starring Justin Long and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James.
