Disney’s Frog Princess in 2-D?Walt Disney is developing The Frog Princess with plans to produce it as a traditional 2-D animated movie.

The movie is being developed by writer-directors Ron Clements and John Musker (Aladdin and The Little Mermaid). Clements and Musker recently rejoined Disney following the Pixar acquisition. Pixar’s John Lasseter, who became Disney Feature Animation president and chief creative officer, has given the go-ahead for Frog Princess to be made in 2-D should it get the greenlight. Composer Alan Menken is working on music for the film.

Disney’s last 2-D feature was 2004’s Home on the Range. Their upcoming 3-D projects include Meet the Robinsons, American Dog, Rapunzel and Joe Jump. Their next collaboration with Pixar will be Ratatouille which is scheduled for release in 2007.
