Leterrier Directing The Incredible Hulk
Louis Leterrier has signed to direct The Incredible Hulk for Marvel Studios and Universal Pictures.
Leterrier’s directing credits include The Transporter and Transporter 2 starring Jason Statham and Unleashed starring Jet Li. Producers Avi Arad and Kevin Feige first met with Leterrier two years ago to guage his interest in directing a Hulk sequel at which time they were impressed with his passion for the Marvel Comics universe. Casting on the new movie is expected to begin shortly. The script is being written by Zak Penn whose credits include Marvel’s X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand.
The original Hulk was directed by Ang Lee and starred Eric Bana and Jennifer Connelly. The movie, which cost $150 million to make, earned $132 million at the North American box office.
Leterrier will be formally introduced Saturday during a Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con in San Diego.
