Owen Wilson is Drillbit Taylor
Owen Wilson will star in the high-concept comedy Drillbit Taylor for Paramount Pictures.
The movie revolves around two high school freshmen who are targeted by the school bully on the first day of the school year. The boys hire what they think is a low-budget soldier of fortune (Wilson) to protect them, but he turns out to be anything but. Steven Brill is in negotiations to direct. The story is based on an original idea by John Hughes who wrote a 70-page scriptment a couple of years ago. Chris Brown and Seth Rogen wrote the screenplay with input from Judd Apatow. Apatow will also produce. Shooting will begin in September in Los Angeles for a summer 2007 release.
Wilson stars next month with Matt Dillon and Kate Hudson in You, Me and Dupree.
