Jason Lee Voicing Underdog
Jason Lee will voice Underdog in Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the classic 1960s cartoon.
The original cartoon followed the adventures of a humble dog named Shoeshine Boy who became the superheroic Underdog. In the movie, he is adopted by a 12-year-old boy and uses his superpower to protect his love, Polly Purebred, and the citizens of Capitol City from the evil Simon Barsinister. Peter Dinklage will play Barsinister. Frederik Du Chau is directing.
Lee currently stars on TV’s My Name Is Earl. His previous voice credits include the character “Syndrome” from The Incredibles. He’ll appear in this summer’s Monster House and has a cameo in Kevin Smith’s Clerks 2. He’s also set to direct a short film that he wrote which will star Giovanni Ribisi and Beth Riesgraf.
