Mads Mikkelsen is Le Chiffre
In a follow up to yesterday’s story on some possible casting announcements for the lastest James Bond flick, Casino Royale, we now have some answered and some unanswered questions.
During a press conference yesterday in Prague, director Martin Campbell introduced Mads Mikkelsen who insiders already knew would be playing Bond villian Le Chiffre. However, when questioned about who’d be playing the latest Bond babe, Campbell would only say that the casting process has been narrowed down to two or three actresses. If you’re into the whole rumor thing, those actresses are believed to be Eva Green and Olivia Wilde.
Although maybe not the answers Bond fans were looking for, there were some details about the film released including the fact that the movie would deal a bit with M’s (Judi Dench) backstory with a scene set in her London apartment, constructed in modernist beige at Barrandov, complete with Asian art and Tanqueray gin cocktail service. Also revealed was that audiences could expect to see Bond’s more sensitive side and how he became “the Bond we all know and love.”
Shooting on the film began roughly 3 weeks ago in Prague. It’ll soon move to the Bahamas to shoot a chase sequence at a seaside construction site before returning to Prague for studio and location work. From there, filming will continue in Italy and the U.K.’s Pinewood Studios.
Casino Royale is scheduled for release November 17th.
