Mandy Moore is boring — but not in a bad way. Here’s how I figure it. Crossover acts like Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson are only popular because they are constantly in the tabloids for doing whatever stupid thing they are doing that week. So, we’re constantly bombarded with images and video of these guy even though they possess very little talent. So my guess is that Mandy Moore lives a pretty boring life — but to her credit it affords her the opportunity to not get caught up in all that bullsh*t and the time to pick and play some great roles. Case in point…
Moore has signed on to star as Diane Keaton’s daughter in Because I Said So. In the movie, Keaton stars as a meddling mother who, in order to prevent her youngest daughter (Moore) from following in her footsteps, attempts to set her up with the right man. Michael Lehmann directs from a story by Karen Leigh Hopkins and Jessie Nelson. Shooting begins later this month.
More upcoming Moore projects include Romance and Cigarettes with James Gandolfini and Susan Sarandon and Paul Weitz’s American Dreamz. She’s also planning the release of another album (as-yet-untitled) in 2006.
