Writer on LL Cool J Thriller
One of the few crossover acts I can actually enjoy is LL Cool J. The ladies love Cool James — and so can I. His only problem, I’d say, would be that he hasn’t really gotten that breakthrough role. Let’s face it, he hasn’t exactly been in too many good movies. But, he’s always been good in them.
News today that Lions Gate Films has hired Charlie Bohl to write an as-yet-untitled thriller with LL set to star. Lions Gate is keeping the storyline of the project under wraps, except to say it will be an African-American version of a cross between Fatal Attraction and Body Heat. The project will be the first in a multi-picture deal with the actor, whose real name is James Todd Smith.
Bohl’s previous writing credits include Swimfan the recent CBS TV movie, Martha Behind Bars.
LL Cool J next stars with Justin Timberlake, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey in Edison.
