Watanabe/Qi Join Chasing the Dragon
Ken Watanabe has made some great casting choices. He was nominated for an Oscar for The Last Samurai, he co-starred in the summer blockbuster Batman Begins and next month, he co-stars with Zhang Ziyi in the highly anticipated Memoirs of a Geisha. So why choose to make a movie with Wesley Snipes?!
Watanabe and Shu Qi have joined the cast of the upcoming Snipes action-adventure Chasing the Dragon. In the movie, Snipes plays an FBI agent who teams up with a poverty-stricken Asian girl (Qi) on a relentless pursuit of a ruthless Asian drug lord (Watanabe). Production begins next month on location in Taiwan and here in Toronto. Chris Nahon directs.
Besides Geisha, Watanabe’s upcoming credits The Air I Breathe with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Diego Luna.
