Michael Caine Just Keeps Going
It’s a little difficult to believe that Michael Caine is 72 years old. I guess he looks it, but by the number of movies the guy makes, it just doesn’t seem he’s slowing down. News today that he’s signed on for two new projects.
Caine will first join the cast of Children of Men for director Alfonso Cuaron. The movie, based on the novel by P.D. James, is set in a world where humans are unable to reproduce. When news comes of the death of the earth’s youngest person – at age 18 – the world is sent into chaos. Clive Owen, Julianne Moore and Chiwetel Ejiofor also star.
From there, Caine will make reteam with director Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins) for The Prestige. The movie stars Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale as rival magicians in turn-of-the-century London who battle each other for trade secrets. The rivalry is so intense that it turns them into murderers. Caine will play a retired magician who teaches tricks to Jackman’s character.
