Fogler has Balls of Fury
Dan Fogler will star in Balls of Fury for Rogue Films.
Best known for his Tony-winning performance in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Fogler will play an accomplished Ping-Pong player who’s disgraced on the world stage and relegated to using his prowess to make a living as a Vegas act — until he’s enlisted by the CIA to make a comeback.
Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant wrote the script. Garant will direct. Lennon is expected to play a key role. The movie is set to begin shooting next spring.
In the meantime, Fogler will remain with his stage musical and continue to pursue feature film gigs. He has already signed to provide the lead voice in Disney’s animated Rapunzel and he’ll also star in The Marconi Brothers in October. He is also in talks to join Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Heder in School for Scoundrels.
