A couple of new deals for Rosario Dawson today…
First, a role in Killshot, John Madden’s adaptation of the Elmore Leonard bestseller. The movie stars Thomas Jane and Diane Lane as a couple who flee the witness protection program with a gangster (Mickey Rourke) in hot pursuit. Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play the gangster’s dangerous sidekick. Dawson will play the sidekick’s girlfriend. Johnny “Jackass” Knoxville will portray an FBI agent trying to keep the couple alive.
Second, Dawson has scored a role in Kevin Smith’s The Passion of the Clerks. No details on what role she’ll play, but from what we do know, all the characters from the original film will return and, according to a recent article in TV Guide, the movie is set to begin production October 10th.
The Weinstein Co. will distribute both projects. Quentin Tarantino will serve as an executive producer on Killshot.
Dawson next stars in Chris Columbus’ big screen adaptation of the Broadway musical Rent.
