Claire Danes in The Flock
Claire Danes is just someone we don’t see enough of in quality roles. Maybe that’s the choice she makes, but hopefully, with Shopgirl coming out next month, she’ll get some of the recognition I think she deserves.
News today that Danes is in final talks to join the Richard Gere thriller The Flock. The movie follows a hypervigilant federal agent (Gere) who is training his young female replacement (Danes). The two must track down a missing girl who might be connected to a paroled sex offender under investigation.
The Flock marks the English-language debut of Hong Kong director Andrew Lau (Infernal Affairs).
Shopgirl, also starring Steve Martin and Jason Schwartzman, premieres tomorrow at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be in theaters October 21st.
