Murphy’s Norbit Finds Director
This year marks the first year in more than a decade that Eddie Murphy won’t be seen in theaters. Makes you wonder if that’s the reason the box office is in such a slump. Probably not…
Murphy’s upcoming comedy Norbit is in the process of finding a new director, with Brian Robbins in negotiations for the part. Robbins would replace Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball) who dropped out over a scheduling conflict.
In the movie, Murphy stars as Norbit, a meek guy pressed into marrying a monstrous woman (also played by Murphy). When he subsequently meets the woman of his dreams, he has to figure out a way to be with her. Shooting is scheduled to start in March.
Robbins is currently directing Disney’s upcoming The Shaggy Dog remake starring Tim Allen.
