Tim Burton Producing 9In their first foray into animated movie, Focus Features will back the Shane Acker-directed 9. Tim Burton will produce.

Based on Acker’s short film of the same name, the surreal fantasy takes place in a parallel world where humanity is threatened. Acker describes the movie as having a “stylized quality” that makes footage look like stop-motion animation.

Pamela Pettler (who wrote Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride) has been brought on board to write the 9 screenplay.

Acker’s 9 short was recently honored with the animated film laurel at Comic-Con. It is eligible for a 2005 Oscar nomination after also winning gold at the Student Academy Awards.

    awww if this is for tim burton.. i love u and ur work is amazing. o and “nine” im sooooo looking forward to seeing like no joke when i was the preview, i was so happy like even the music and songs in like every one of ur movies. i know like almost alll the words to like all of them. and i mean even edward scissorhands and sleepy hallow, o and like how u and jonny depp know each so much that hes ur sons god father i think thats sweet o and wats ur daughters name shes adorable and so is billy. if its werid that i know stuff about u and u know nothing about me im srry lol o and exuse my spelling ive always been bad at it. plz plz plz please right back -tiffani (not ur biggest fan, but a real good one)
