Ice CubeHere’s my question about Ice Cube. Remember when he made Boyz N The Hood? I know it was a long time ago, but wasn’t he good in that movie? I mean, for his first film, he pulled off an excellent dramatic performance. Where has the serious actor in him gone? Every movie you see him in these days is either a mindless comedy or an equally mindless action flick. I just seems like the guy sold out and is just taking the easy road – and the easy money.

News today that Cube is in line to star in New Line’ Teacher of the Year, a comedy pitch from Jeff Bushell about a couple of junior high school instructors in a brutal competition to take teacher of the year honors.

Although at this point nothing is 100%, once a finished draft is completed, Cube will likely attach himself to the project if everyone involved wants to move forward.

Bushell’s writing credits include work on Curious George for Universal Pictures and South of the Border for Disney.
