Clive Owen to ’Shoot ’Em Up’
The more work he gets, the more unlikely it becomes that Clive Owen will be the next 007.
Owen has signed to star in New Line Cinema’s hard-core action project Shoot ’Em Up. In the movie, the story begins with a woman having a baby during a shootout. The man who delivers the baby, called simply Mr. Smith, is entrusted with protecting it from an army of gunmen.
The movie is expected to begin shooting in January for a holiday 2006 release. Michael Davis will direct from his own script.
Owen last starred in Sin City. His upcoming projects include Sin City 2 and Derailed with Jennifer Aniston. He’s also scheduled to start shooting on Inside Man with Denzel Washington and director Spike Lee later this month.
