’American Dreamz’ Cast
You’ve gotta like it when directors and actors choose to work together more than once. It makes you believe that friendship and loyalty in Hollywood actually mean something. So, when I read about movies like American Dreamz, I anticipate it that much more.
Director Paul Weitz will reteam with Hugh Grant (About a Boy), Dennis Quaid (In Good Company) and Chris Klein (American Pie)in “Dreamz”, a social satire that, according to Weitz, “examines the role of dreams and ambitions in American culture. It’s about what’s wrong with America and how close it is to what’s right with America.” Mandy Moore (right) will also star.
The movie will follow several characters drawn from the political and entertainment spheres. Grant will portray a disaffected British TV personality, while Quaid will play the U.S. President, who’s going through a nervous breakdown.
Weitz also wrote the script and will produce with his brother Chris Weitz. Production on the movie, which will be released by Universal Pictures, is set to get under way as early as July.
